Jacana Energy offers various electricity tariffs for residential customers, small businesses and large commercial customers in the Northern Territory.

All tariffs and charges are effective from 1 July 2019 unless otherwise stated.

Electricity tariffs

Residential tariffs (regulated)

Tariff applicable to all customers under our Customer Contract using less than 750MWh of electricity per year for premises used for residential purposes. This tariff covers residential customers in the Northern Territory (excluding serviced apartments) and also:

  • Electricity used on vacant land zoned for residential purposes
  • Living premises of retirement villages (must be separately metered)

  • Motels, hotels, serviced apartments and any form of temporary accommodation
  • Shops, offices, warehouses and industrial / manufacturing plants
  • Mining enterprises
  • Farms
  • Excluding Public Benevolent Institutions

Tariff applicable to all customers who are supplied electricity by the proprietor of a caravan park who is:

  • a commercial – flat rate tariff customer; or
  • a commercial – time of use tariff customer.

Commercial default tariffs (unregulated)

Tariff applicable to customers using between 750MWh and 2,000MWh of electricity per year for premises  used for non-residential purposes, including:

  • Electricity used on vacant land zoned for commercial purposes
  • Temporary supply (ie for building purposes)
  • Motels, hotels, serviced apartments and any form of temporary accommodation
  • Shops, offices, warehouses and industrial / manufacturing plants
  • Mining enterprises
  • Farms
  • Excluding Public Benevolent Institutions

In addition to the prices and charges outlined below, the cost of getting electricity to premises through the network of poles and wires is passed on to customers' bills on behalf of the network provider. Electricity service charges

There are extra network charges associated with some electricity services. These charges are passed on from the network provider.
