Territory Generation have advised Jacana Energy that compensation is not available. In a statement, Territory Generation has also advised customers who are concerned about losses due to Saturday’s power outages to make a detailed record of those losses and review their own insurance policy.
Jacana Energy understand that the Northern Territory Government may review options around compensation. At this stage, Jacana Energy have not yet been notified of any outcome. Should a decision to apply compensation be reached and Jacana Energy is requested to assist in this process, we will inform our customers on their electricity bill.
