Jacana Energy appoints Victor Browner as new CEO

Jacana Energy is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Victor Browner as its new Chief Executive Officer following an extensive recruitment process. Mr Browner will take up the position on 2 May 2017.

Mr Browner has held a range of senior executive roles in the government and private energy sectors. He currently holds the role of Director Government Businesses for the Department of Finance Public Utilities in Western Australia, where he is responsible for providing commercial advice to Government on the strategies, activities and performance of government enterprises in the energy sector.

Mr Browner has also held a range of senior executive roles with Alinta Energy’s Western Australian retail business where he was responsible for the commercial, operational, people, strategic and regulatory performance of the business.

With proven strategic, commercial and financial capabilities, and with experience in advising the WA Government on sectoral initiatives and performance of public utilities, Mr Browner is well positioned to lead Jacana through energy sector reform in the Territory.

Jacana Energy’s outgoing Chief Executive Officer, Stuart Pearce, who notified the Board of his intention to stand down last year, will work with Mr Browner to ensure a smooth transition.

The Jacana Energy Board of Directors, thank Stuart for his leadership in establishing Jacana Energy from a small start-up newly separated from Power and Water Corporation to the stand-alone energy retailer it is now and looks forward to continued improvements in energy retail services for all Territorians.
