Jacana Energy raised over $6,000 for the Salvation Army this Festive Season21 January 2019
Jacana Energy was proud to support the Salvation Army of the Northern Territory’s Christmas Appeal for the fourth year running.
Over the months of November and December 2018, Jacana Energy employees worked tirelessly to raise funds to help Territorians facing crisis over the festive season. Over the length of the Appeal, Jacana Energy raised over $6,000. Please see below for more information about the initiatives that Jacana Energy undertook:
Food Drive: Over a period of two weeks Jacana Energy set up a food donation point in the lobby of our building. We encouraged everyone working at Jacana Energy and other employees of the building to donate food or household items to be used by the Salvation Army to create hampers for those in need. The Jacana Energy office in Alice Springs also set up a collection point in their building.
High Tea for Hope: 6 December saw Jacana Energy employees host the High Tea for Hope in the lobby of our office building. Sweet and savoury treats baked by Jacana Energy employees as well as delicious goodies from local business Ben’s Bakehouse were up for sale for a gold coin donation. Jacana Energy matched all donations dollar for dollar.
Airport Collection: Jacana Energy employees volunteered their time at the Darwin International Airport to collect donations for the Christmas Appeal from holiday travellers.
Hostel Lunch: Jacana Energy funded Christmas lunch for residents at the Salvation Army hostel on Mitchell Street. Employees helped serve food and drinks during the lunch, which was full of Christmas favourites.
