The authorised metering service provider, Power and Water Corporation, accesses your electricity meter once every three months to capture your actual meter read. This meter read helps us calculate your electricity usage for the quarter and bill you accordingly.
When meter readers cannot access your meter, they are not able to provide us your actual meter read. They will therefore estimate your usage based on your historical consumption and supply this read for us to bill you. Find out more about estimated reads.
Prepayment meters are a type of domestic meter that requires users to pay for their electricity before they use it. Electricity is credited to the meter by a single-use token, available for purchase at selected token stockists across the Northern Territory. Find out more about prepayment meters.
Accessing your meter data
