What is Reliabill?

Reliabill is a plan that lets you pay the same amount toward your electricity every month to avoid those unpredictable seasonal bills.

It gives you more predictability, more peace of mind, and more control.

Is Reliabill right for me?

To be eligible you need to:

  • be a residential customer
  • be on a quarterly billing cycle
  • pay by direct debit
  • receive bills and correspondence by email (eBIlling)

Reliabill is not available to customers who:

  • have an active payment plan or hardship plan in place
  • have a debt over $300 on their account
  • have solar PV
  • receive a concession from Territory Families

How does it work?

Step 1

We estimate your monthly payment

Using your billing history we estimate a monthly instalment to cover the cost of your annual usage.

If you don't have twelve months of billing history, we calculate your instalment based on the usage of a comparable customer.

Step 2

You pay the same amount every month

Each month you will receive a statement showing your instalment amount and its due date.

Your instalment will be automatically direct debited from your nominated bank account on the due date.

Every three months, we'll send you an invoice which shows how you're tracking with your plan and how your payments compared with your actual usage.

Step 3

We review your plan every six months

We will review your instalments every six months to assess if they are appropriate to cover your actual usage.

If the difference between what you're paying and what you should pay to cover your actual usage is greater than 10%, we’ll adjust your plan for a further twelve months period.

We will notify you of your new instalment amount in writing.

How do I sign-up?

What if I want to cancel my Reliabill plan?

You can cancel your plan at any time. Simply notify us in writing at customercare@jacanenergy.comau or call 1800 JACANA (1800 522 262).

When your plan is cancelled, you will go back on a quarterly billing cycle.

Your direct debit arrangement will also be cancelled. Remember to set a new one up if you want to continue to make regular payments.
