Application of default rates
The applicable default rate for each region set out above is payable if you are not covered by the Electricity Pricing Order in the Northern Territory, and either:
- you previously entered into an agreement with Jacana Energy for the purchase of electricity for your premises at an agreed Energy Charge Rate, which has now expired or terminated, and you have not entered into a new agreement either with Jacana Energy or with another electricity retailer; or
- you have not yet entered into any agreement with an electricity retailer for the purchase of electricity for your premises and Jacana Energy has financial responsibility for electricity supplied to that premises.
In addition to the prices and charges outlined above, the cost of getting electricity to premises through the network of poles and wires is passed on to customers' bills on behalf of the network provider. For more information, visit the Power and Water Corporation website.
