Business pricing and tariffs

This tariff provides assurance that you are charged the same rate any time, any day. 

Conditions:

• This is the default tariff applied for new business accounts consuming less than 500 megawatt hours per year.
• The property connected to this tariff should be used for commercial purpose only.
• Power usage is billed monthly or quarterly. 

Time of use tariffs charge different rates depending on the time of day. A new time of use tariff for small business customers will be available to opt-in from 1 January 2026.

Time of use small business tariff

This tariff is best suited for commercial properties where most electricity usage occurs between 9am to 3pm daily.

Conditions:

• Applies to certain power meter models only (smart meters). Any upgrade may incur additional fees.
• Customers can opt in at any time. The tariff will apply from the next billing period.
• The connected property should be used for commercial purposes only.
• Available to business accounts consuming less than 160 megawatt hours per year.

Please note: the time of use tariff does not guarantee lower bills compared to the standard business tariff. Costs are dependent on the connected property's usage and circumstances. Please assess carefully if this tariff is right for you.

Switch to Six

The Switch to Six time of use tariff is no longer available. Current Switch to Six customers can continue on their plan until 30 June 2026 before being automatically moved to the standard business tariff. Switch to Six customers can choose to change their plan before this date by calling us on 1800 522 262. 

The large user tariff applies to customers consuming between 500-750MWh per year. 

• This tariff applies to customers that consumed between 500-750MWh from 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025
• These customers will remain on the large user tariff until 30 June 2026. 

Large user tariff customers will be reviewed annually. Customers can be moved to the standard commercial tariff if their consumption drops below 500MWh in the 12 months ending 30 June 2026.

Additional costs incurred where service provision could not be undertaken and/or completed as planned due to action or inaction of a network user or their agent. If the network provider is unable to undertake their work, then the lower of either the requested service fee or the wasted visit fee charge will apply.
