Life support customers

Our unique environment means power outages are more common here than other parts of Australia. That’s why we work a bit harder to keep our customers who rely on life support safe.

If you’re on life support, it is very important that you contact us immediately, so we can put you on our Life Support Customer Register.

Being on the register means we prioritise you if the power goes out, and not just because of cyclones and bad weather. It also means Power and Water (your electricity network service provider), must tell you if they have any planned outages that will affect you.

How to register

The first and most important step is to contact us. Simply give us a call on 1800 522 262 or email We will put your details on the Life Support Customer Register immediately.

Check with your medical practitioner to confirm that you or someone living with you has a medical condition that requires any of the life support equipment listed below:

  • Ventilator for life support

Download the Medical confirmation form for registering your life support equipment. You'll need to send this to as soon as you can.

Email your form to or post to Jacana Energy, GPO Box 1785, Darwin NT 0801.
